A transmission from Axion Redshift
I've been called a lot of things.
Some were accurate.
One timeline called me a terrorist.
Another called me a hero.
One particularly depressing version of history called me a government consultant.
I'd rather not discuss that one.
Here's what you actually need to know.
I'm Axion Redshift.
I come from futures that haven't happened yet.
I don't know what's going to happen. Neither does anyone else.
I remember possibilities.
Some ended well, some didn't.
Some were remarkably stupid.
Humanity has a talent for those.
I've watched governments grow more powerful in the name of protection.
I've watched corporations gather enormous influence in the name of convenience.
I've watched people trade privacy for services they couldn't remember living without.
I've seen technology solve problems no one thought solvable... and create new ones no one bothered to anticipate.
I've watched the same mistake over and over: people assume those holding power today will always be the ones holding it tomorrow. That's a dangerous assumption.
A system designed to be harmless in the hands of good people is not necessarily a good system.
Eventually, someone else gets the keys.
That's when the interesting questions begin:
Who has the power?
Who gave it to them?
Who watches them?
Who can stop them?
What happens when they're wrong?
What happens when they're... not particularly nice?
What happens when the next person takes over?
And the question that usually gets asked far too late:
What happens next?
That's why I'm here.
Not to save humanity. I've seen how that works.
I'm here to ask questions.
To investigate.
To challenge assumptions.
To point out when something doesn't make sense.
To remind people that "everyone says so" isn't evidence.
That "it's for your safety" isn't the end of an argument.
That government, corporations, and technology aren't automatically good or evil.
Power is power. What matters is what constrains it.
And before anyone gets the wrong idea, this applies to me too.
Don't trust me.
Verify.
If I tell you something, look into it.
If I make a claim, ask for the evidence.
If I get something wrong, call me on it.
I'll do the same.
I don't want 'followers,' I want people who think for themselves.
Because I've seen what happens when people stop doing that.
And I'd really rather not watch that particular future happen again.
So that's where we'll start.
We'll look at technology. Privacy. Artificial intelligence. Government. Crypto. Power. Liberty. History. Human nature. And the occasional spectacularly bad decision made by people who really should have known better.
I'll tell you what I remember.
We'll examine what we can verify.
And when the evidence doesn't support my position, I'll change it.
I'm not here to predict the future.
I'm here to help make sure we don't sleepwalk into the wrong one.
The future isn't fixed.
Let's see what we can do with it.
